I like the cicadas too! And the frogs and all the other noisy creatures. But yes I'm sure NC is much much nicer than, say, Louisiana. The deep south is just swampy hell in the summertime even if I do personally enjoy the whole southern gothic atmosphere at night. (It's just the whole sweating buckets thing that's less than romantic. Unless I suppose you're in a cemetery while on drugs, or something, then it wouldn't matter too much)
