Faith has been around forever and a lot of people are born into it through multiple generations and it becomes a huge part of their lives. You just can't yank that away.
But things need to be put into perspective when it comes citing things like the Bible and Kuran as reality.
Moving to San Diego was a trip because Christianity is HUGE here as opposed to back east. It's pretty wild how many of my co-workers were flipped out 2 decades ago when they found out I was an atheist.
But we treated each other with mutual respect and could discuss things like how ridiculous the whole Noah's Ark story is. They embrace the faith as a major part of their lives but are able to separate the faith from the fable.
