I remember digging this album back when it came out 9 years ago, but going back to it now I'm struck by how I don't know if I've ever seen a non-core or melodeath death metal album that felt so strongly targeted toward a certain age group. Even back then I recognized that there was a pandering element to the music, but now I feel like an outsider looking in on a completely different metal headspace as much as if I were listening to Bullet for My Valentine.
