1. The Batlord: Waylon Jennings - Lonesome, On'ry and Mean
He has a great voice. I'm not a huge fan of the harmonica in general (too fixed unless you've got a chromatic) and this track is no exception, but it's a pretty solid
country track nonetheless. 6/10
2. Kiii: Genesis - Cats With Hats
I'm going to assume this is a CWH track and not a Genesis one. Very cool industrial flavoured IDM stuff, absolutely not what I expected Kiii to make (I was under the impression that he aspired to the boring **** YorkeDaddy plays). Sounds like a minimal sample processed to death in Audacity (in a good way). 8/10
3. Frownland: Mike Cooper - Industrial Hazard
My track. Grinding, droning, screeching guitar suites with haunting poetry delivered in a Bowie/Scott Walker-esque manner. The "are you smiling?" lyric sends chills down my spine. Gotta give props to rostasi for showing me this one. 10/10
4. Trollheat: Sleep Thieves - Sparks
80s inspired dance pop with a singer that's sounds lot like Lorde. I was pretty bored with this one. The stuff kids listen to these days, amiright? 2/10
5. zer0: Nick Cave Dolls - Bongwater
Kicks off with some messy musique concrete stuff dancing back and forth between the glitchy samples before going into a psychedelic droney thing with narration. I was expecting a Nick Cave song, so getting a Bongwater track was a bit of a surprise. The instrumentation on this one is great, especially the fat bass. The narrator reminds me of
this track. One of the best ones on this list. 10/10
6. Dr_Rez: Steel Pulse - Born Fe Rebel
I saw these guys at the Del Mar Fair once with a girl I took the horse races because they were playing for free. Really entertaining show watching security trying to stop people from smoking weed, since each time they halted a doob's journey, six more popped up in its place. That being said, this is not my thing at all. Guy has kind of a cool voice and the horns are cool, but that's about it. 3.5/10
7. Aloysius: Aloysius - Cosmos
Is this you dude? Flamenco style track with excellent guitars (two I think) all over the track. Nothing to complain about here except the percussion could have been a tad bit more interesting. The guitar is clearly the focus and they earned it though. 9/10
8. rostasi: David Holmes - I Heard Wonders
Love the krautrock elements on this, mainly the driving drum rhythms and electronics. Not into his breathy singing though (feels tacked on and unnecessary) and the happier sounding dream pop elements that this track takes on though. Overall the song kind of bored me. Bummer since I was looking forward to what you'd share but your track record still beats everyone else's. 3.5/10
