Time to do this.
The return album is
Snapcase's
Progression Through Unlearning (1997) (Metalcore, Hardcore Punk, Post-Hardcore)
I think Batlord recced this awhile back but I never did it for some reason. So here goes nothing.
Caboose - Stars off with some badass metalcore riffing. Vocals come in... typical hardcore punk style vocals. Really like the instrumentals.
Guilty by Ignorance - If you can drown out the annoying snare this ****s pretty good. Good song... but that ****ing snare. I think St. Angers snare problem was less annoying.
Harrison Bergeronv - had to read this book and watch the movie my sophomore year of high school. I am curious to see which story they tell. I don't know if the movie or this song came first. The music is badass. And the snare isn't an issue this time.
Priceless - starts with some static and a quiet electric guitar. And then explodes into more badassery. Great song.
Zombie Prescription - starts of with... I don't know what it is. It's cool. Though seriously does anyone know what that is playing? Good song. Snare issue is back a bit but not as bad.
Killing Yourself to Live - Starts off cool... but that ****ing snare! This album has so many great things going but is really Suffering because of a lack of production. It's a cool song.
She Suffocates - starts off cool. Snare isn't an issue as much. It's not as abrasive. I don't have much to say about the music. It's a lot of the same. That's not a bad thing cause this band is awesome and putting some great stuff.
And youtube is having loading issues. F
ucking Christ!
Ok. I got it back.
Weak Tyrant - Same story. Badass music, but it's like the songs that have come before.
Vent - This song started a bit different. But it's back to the same.
Breaking and Reaching - This song is the first one showing signs of post-hardcore... but i don't know enough on the genre to comment so.... whatever...
Outro - lol. I LIKE YOU!
Final thoughts: This was a great album but suffers from being a bit samey and bad production.
