You might want to look into Amazon Fire Tablet. I just got one recently.
Fire HD 10 Tablet, 10.1" HD Display, Wi-Fi, 16 GB
but I definitely think this
model is better since you get more storage space and it's cheaper than the 10 inch model.

I had a Nexus 7 2013 edition but that was way expensive for what it was and kind of a waste of money for my first tablet.
Also storage isn't that big of an issue if you just utilize the amazon services they offer and you use their cloud storage.
