For the third time my son has broken my ribs. The first two times were when he was young and we'd be wrestling and horsing around MMA style and he kneed me in the ribs. This time was not in fun. Nuff said.
First off, there is nothing you can do to fix a busted rib. They just have to heal. I have this large velcro ace bandage wrapped tightly around my chest to minimize the amount of chest expansion while breathing. And ya, I've had it since the first time he did it.
Secondly, and this is the best advice you'll ever get in regard to a broken rib, if you feel a sneeze coming on, get to the nearest wall and press your body against it on the side with the busted bone as HARD AS YOU CAN TAKE.
This will limit the explosion in your chest.
