Interesting, I find it absolutely engaging. I also think Law was perfect for the role and I find his character flaws in the show as perfect for the role. He was actually supposed to be unsympathetic, hes an actual villian in the overall plot. I have watched every episode and look forward to the rest.

Meh, I find it hard to watch a main character I don't connect with. A lot of the time it's what turns me off the show. I either need to understand or be rooting for or even against the guy, but if we don't click, as it were, I find it hard to enjoy the show. I mean, Hannibal Lecter was a villain but I loved him, to say nothing of the likes of Sandoval in
Earth: Final Conflict, Joe in
The Following and even Morden in
Babylon 5, most of the above of which I'm sure you have never seen. But it's the same with any show: a good baddy (as it were) or a sympathetic lead at least is essential to me. Look at Tony Soprano: the guy was evil but we loved him. Don't or didn't get that from Law, not at all. The guy creeped me out. Also had no idea where the show was going; after an hour and a half it seemed to have done just about nothing. Maybe I'm just impatient, or needed the space on my Sky box, but I wasn't prepared to slog through a few episodes to see if maybe I might enjoy it after all. First impressions last, as they say, and my initial impression of this led me to push "delete".
There was another series recently that had that effect on me .. oh yeah.
Peaky Binders. Couldn't get that at all. And
Whitechapel. And
Unforgettable, and
Shetland ... quite a few, come to think of it.
