The scene where Oskar catches a glimpse of Eli and finally realizes that she's neither a girl or a buy is critical to the story.
The cinematography is almost directly backwards in the new one too because the original wasn't shot in the standard Western style (f. ex. the "good" characters moving from left to right and the "bad" characters moving in the opposite direction).
