Funny. You've posted about music and books from the 50s and 60s. I wasn't alive in the 50s and didn't have a clue for most of the 60s. My point is, if something is good, it's good regardless of the year.

Yes, Kelly, and Reynolds haven't been pop culture for decades. But can you honestly say you've never heard of any of their work - namely Singing in the Rain? That movie is as iconic as The Wizard of Oz, Citizen Kane, Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf, Ben Hur, and a host of others that have been referenced from time to time here.

Panties not knotted. Now go suspend your cynicism for a couple of hours and watch Singing in the Rain. I know you hate lists but here goes anyways.
