The point is, the above is silly nonsense, whereas if you had said something hurtful and untrue about me I would make a point of denying it and proving it not to be the case. Certainly, anyone can and will call you anything. That does not in any way mean you allow them to, or, by remaining silent, give your assent to their accusations.
