Considering how recently this was released I'm honored to probably be one of the first people to listen to this start to finish. I'm not commenting on this as a peer on this forum but as a straight out fan. This is one of the best releases I've heard from 2016 all genres included. It has a restrained organic feel to it that brings to mind, structurally, to me at least, Half Japanese, and texturally certain aspects of Sun Ra and The Art Ensemble of Chicago (and Sue Anne Harkey- if you've ever heard her stuff. I feel like you've successfully and intentionally bookended it with the opening and closing tracks. I also assume that it is your intention to leave it as it is as improvised music. However, the opening track is in my opinion better because it's more hypnotic. At 11 minutes and change there's a lot invested in that final track.
I give this release 4 out of 5 stars.
