There's a select few exceptions where I like something that technically falls into the horror category: The Thing (1982), Alien, Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.
There's kind of a "new wave" of really good horror coming out right now with movies like The Babadook, The Witch, Hush, It Follows (admittedly overrated as ****, but still great), and Under the Skin that you might want to check out.

Most horror doesn't affect me either, and when it does, I hate it! I still think that the Hills Have Eyes (the remake) is the worst movie I've ever seen. Why anyone would subject their minds to unconstructive, nasty filth like that is beyond me. Are people sick in the head or something? I know they're not... Just saying I reeeeaally don't get it!
It's exploitation and people watch it to get their twisted rocks off. It's like watching videos of car crashes or fights I guess.
