Oh, well, I think people are primarily voting for their favorites. That's definitely what I'm doing, although I am also trying to limit it to people who had some influence . . . though if we were doing a category where I really loved someone who was completely obscure, I'd probably list them as one of my choices anyway.

For example, though, for golden age hip-hop artists, I went for Ice Cube instead of NWA. I think NWA was probably more influential, but I like solo Ice Cube more than NWA. Also, I voted for Geto Boys and not for Wu Tang Clan. There's no way Geto Boys were more influential than WTC, but I like Geto Boys more (even though I like Wu Tang Clan, too).
