Anyways ignoring the people who want to define punk as some sort of artistic lifestyle credo that spawns many genres and goes back to the 60' garage rock...

because it wasn't, it's f'n white kids in the 80's who listened to the Sex Pistols and Black Flag!!!


sure there is always those bands out there like No Means No that do stuff a little differently, but for me, the progressive sound in youth culture music usually means a genre is its way out.

Hardcore in the 80's was awesome, all these bands with raw aggression and simple beats, and then it started to get redundant so the 90's was dominated by post hardcore, and with the exception of a few bands like the Jesus Lizard, it was some nasty $hit!

Same thing with rock, from the Rolling Stones to Journey, and now I'm seeing hip hop running a similar course.
