STEAMY! I wish I had the talent that this lady has in her pinky finger. Literally. She is great on the piano. And her voice is perfect enough that she doesn't have to try hard or overcook anything to sound good. Very authentic. I fell in love with this song/sound and listened to it so much, that the very same week I looked in my closet and found a trench coat and dark sunglasses and my dog took up smoking long skinny cigarettes.
Good thing I'm not a man, I would have looked up and been 30lbs lighter with a long straggly beard and maybe an earring. This gal totally has that effect on me. Love her sound, love her lyrics. Goodnight from this same album is equally great too. She just has what a good jazz artist should have. Nonchalant and effortlessly cool talent. My beret is off to you Melody Gardot! Encore!!! Encore!! Andale, Andale! Arriba, Arriba!
