islam was never the religion of peace. people who say islam comes from the word salam are lying. it comes from istislam. which means submission.

i mean, there are 'peaceful' parts of the religion. like giving to the poor, respecting others, the saving 1 life is like saving all of mankind thing as well.

so its very contradictory that way.

most good people who call themselves muslim usually ignore the violent parts and focus on the good.

and the extremists focus on the violent parts and forget all the kindness and mercy verses.
