None of the consersavative talk show hosts and none of the listening audience view themselves as you described. In fact they they see themselves as furthering equality among various ethnic group. They have Ann Hart Coulter and Sarah Louise Palin going for them so they probably don't see themselves as "misogynists." The conservative even include Araminta Ross as one of their own. And they don't see themselves dominating the news i.e. "propaganda networks of the established print and broadcast monopolies." Rather they see themselves as a minority in the media. I don't know if it is an hyperbole for comical effect but Rush says that "99% of the news is controlled by Liberals."

I've found that, quite reliably, comedians provide the most transparent perspective of the news. Chris Philpott wrote a short piece titled,
The relationship between comedy and truth where he states:
Quote:
Is every comedic statement true? No. But it seems to me that most comedy, especially that which subverts the truth, is reliant on our understanding of the truth - or, as Guy points out, of what we perceive to be true.

This is in part what contributed to the success of The Daily Show in the Jon Stewart years. I was hard pressed to find a "real" news source more informative than the "fake news" of Stewart and his team. They (deservedly) mocked the right, and when opportunities arose, criticized the left as well. But I took away a greater understanding of the stories from each Daily Show report than I could ever hope to glean from network news.

It is well-documented that the Jesus myth was an amalgam of scores upon scores of hero myths which preceded Christianity by thousands of years. Leading mythologist Joseph Campbell outlined the history of these myths in great detail, and his work is almost unanimously supported by the majority of religious historians worldwide.
An oversimplified summary of these mythical origins is offered in the Zeitgeist documentary. There are select inaccuracies among their statements, but the overall principle of astrological origin and the shared elements of so many of the world's religions stands to illustrate the general concept.
