Let's talk about bosses. Because not only do indie games in general have such great design and atmosphere, they also have fantastic boss designs, and I want to talk about a lot of them, so expect this to be in a few parts.
I'm going to start off with an easy one because I want to:
Mega Satan from The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
I don't think I've really talked about this boss fight when I talk about the Binding of Isaac in the numerous posts that I have about the game. But, Mega Satan is a fantastic way to test your skills and see how you're really doing at the game. If you've never seen this boss, you can get to him in a few ways, one of which is picking up dad's key and keeping it with you through the whole game until you reach the chest. There are other ways to do is as well, but just google it. Anyway, like I mentioned, if you want to see how you're really doing on a run, fight Mega Satan and watch as your skills suddenly wash away as if they were never there. He can be tough, but if you have the right build, it can be easy.
Next up we have the first boss that you encounter in Nuclear Throne.
Big Bandit. If you want to test your skills at the very beginning of the game, and have your asses handed to you simultaneously, get ready for it. When it comes to bosses in Nuclear Throne, they're obviously going to be bullet helly and often times, extremely difficult depending on the build. Big Bandit is definitely a good first boss because although it can be difficult to lay some attacks into him, his health is relatively low. Definitely one of my favorite bosses in the game next to the end boss with the Throne.
The last one for this post will definitely have to go to the creative boss fights in Enter The Gungeon. I've not played the game yet but I've been watching a lot of content on it and all the boss designs in this game are absolutely fantastic. Much like Nuclear Throne, they are bullet helly, and if you have the right build, they aren't a problem. But again, be ready to have your asses handed to you because the boss designs are nothing short of fantastic. I'll post a few pictures of a few of them to give you an idea of how awesome these boss designs are:

I really need to get into the Enter The Gungeon grind because the game just looks fantastic. Expect a post or two more about the game as well as I will be trying to pick it up relatively soon.
