You ever feel tired of cleaning up others peoples messes and you wish you could just submerge yourself into a video game and forget about it all? Well, you won't get that with Viscera Cleanup Detail. No sir, what you'll get is the same satisfaction of cleaning up someone elses mess but in game form! Now how could that possibly sound like a bad thing!

In all seriousness, Viscera Cleanup Detail is an indie simulator where you play as a janitor of sorts and your main goal is to clean up the mess of what seems to be a catastrophic mass murder of sorts. You are equipped with a mop, a sensor to tell you if you've missed any blood spills or severed limbs, and you can get as many buckets of water as you want. You may be thinking to yourself at this point that this game seems pretty pointless, but for some reason, its extremely satisfying and can be relaxing. It's also very fun to watch if you're looking for games on Twitch that you want to just kill a couple hours with. I've put quite a bit of time into this game until I got a little burned out, but I've definitely missed out on the added expansions and the extra levels that have been added to the game over time. There's even an expansion titled...

I've not played this expansion yet, but from what I can gather, it seems as though the chaos that you're used to cleaning up after with the original game has somehow taken place at Santas workshop. To me, that just shines with creativity. I mean...just look at the screenshots.

I'm sure there are some people out there that would consider Viscera Cleanup Detail as a bit of a hidden gem, and I don't see any reason not to believe that. I've mentioned the game to a few friends of mine that I play online with from time to time, and they'd never heard of the game. But it always ends the same way: "wow, this game is somehow really fun". When it really boils down to it, the game is definitely a lot of fun, and whoever developed the game has continued to do a fantastic job by taking such a simple concept as being a janitor, and bring it to it's next level. You honestly wouldn't think that a game like this would work, but I wouldn't hesitate to put it in the same league as games like Farming Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator. Both of which I have played and both of which I do find to be really relaxing and a lot of fun. This has that same effect, and can even be more fun when you're playing with friends. But be warned, your friends may try to dirty up the place that you just cleaned up.
