Their version of communism was as religious as makes no difference. Does it really make a difference that they didn't invoke a supernatural deity? Cause they invoked themselves enough.

Hitler was most definitely a state god at that point. I'm not even pointing out the neo-pagan cults within Nazism, since Hitler suppressed them, as they threatened his own cult, but Nazism definitely has its own form of spirituality. Nowadays, though, neo-paganism is definitely a driving force in many sects of neo-Nazism.

How is it cheating? Countries all over the world have sponsored religious murder all throughout history. Pretending that it's somehow different than atheist communism is nonsense, especially since, like anti-Semitism in the USSR, it was inspired by religious intolerance from years past.
