But.... but I don't wanna listen to any more melodic metalcore. I just don't ****ing wanna!
And I'm aware Whitechapel got left out. It was intentional. If there was a sixth spot, then they'd probably be on, but there isn't, so they're not.

I would suggest Scream, Aim, Fire, but I know your hatred for Valentine's runs deep.

Everyone hates Bullet for My Valentine. You're the only one who likes them who wasn't fifteen when that album came out. I've even seen the band live as part of a festival. They came on just before Killswitch Engage (who were opening for mother****ing Slayer) and it was pretty much BfMV in a nutshell: half the balls, half the talent, quadruple the suck.

Symphonic metal: not familiar with Stormblast isn't Darkness Enthroned Triumphant Dimmur's signature album? and should I dare suggest....Cradle of Filth's Dusk and Her Embrace.

They're held in roughly the same esteem in general so far as I know, but
Stormblast seems to be the album that people who hate Dimmu will admit to liking. I could have gone with either album, since I don't really think there's any point to listening to Dimmu Borgir in the first place, so I just went with the one that I figured people on THIS site might actually like.
And I guess I could give that Cradle album a listen. Ugh.
