But is that context always correct? Common usage doesn't always mean correctness. If people starting using "the" to describe a pencil, people are just making morons of themselves. I'm not saying the similarities and differences of best and favorite make a moron if used incorrectly, but you can't just take a word and turn it into something different.
But it's gotten apparent that we can't really convince each other of the other side, so I'm not going to argue. If you want to continue to derail the thread with a somewhat unrelated subject on definitions instead of the Beatles topic this was intended for, you can still discuss it if you want. But it's getting tiring, and I want to enjoy my morning with some Eagles and possibly King Crimson.
