Yeah, Botch and DEP were pretty easy choices, but after that it was like pulling teeth. I actually considered voting off Zao, but it is perhaps becoming obvious that I am becoming just a little bit of a fanboy, so that's one more band that'll cause me physical pain to vote for when the time comes.
It really is just a shame where metalcore found itself back in the day. The hardcore kids probably didn't give hardcore mixed with metal the time of day, metal was "dead", most of those bands were still hardcore bands experimenting with metal and so I imagine were not really on a lot of the remaining metalheads' radar, and then Killswitch Engage happened... Metalcore is a genre which really should be held up just as high as thrash or death metal, but circumstances just kind of shunted it either into obscurity or derision, with a very few exceptions.
