I feel that way sometimes with all online activity, not just forums. (one ex: reading news stories that will never affect me). Not sure if what you mean is that you're not getting enough likes on Facebook or something. I don't think it would ever hurt to spend less time online and more time improving relationships and other things in real life. That said, the way I look at forums or whatever is that I'll post what I feel like posting, and people may like it, or they will simply ignore it. The latter I think is more often the case because people have lives and their own interests. It's nice to get some sort of recognition, but the goal is never to be more than some poster on the Internet.
