Sadly most remakes happen to cash cow and that's why they're usually horrible.

Wes Craven was on board for the remake of The Hills Have Eyes himself so, all it really was, was a modernized version of the original and it's was really good. The second his son did and while it was nothing like the original sequel it wasn't bad. He did it enough justice.

I have to say can we please stop remaking amazing Japanese horror movies into really mediocre Americanized ones? Thanks. The only one I've ever watched that wasn't a complete **** show was The Ring but, I have yet to watch Ringu. I could go on and on naming horrible remakes. The Grudge, One Missed Call, Dark Water, The Eye.

Anyway that ends my rant. Again I've never watched Let The Right One In but. Let Me In was good. Usually when things are Americanized though, a movie does lose it's charm I can agree with that so I don't doubt that's true in this case as well.
