That's some random screenshot of the place I took from the internet, it does look bad but the game does not.
I play it on med and in 1600x900 and it looks .. well, it doesn't look next gen. But it looks good and amazing at times - especially when the radiation storm is rolling in or when the sun blinds you.
And yes, the BoS quest line.. is very similar to what was going on in F3. That's why I'm currently on a quest to blow them up.
I also have a new huge construction project in mind, but I'll post the details if and when it materializes
