Just putting my two cents in here, I would HIGHLY suggest checking out the Drive-By Truckers albums with Isbell. Decoration Day, The Dirty South and A Blessing and a Curse. While the band released some good stuff before then, mostly the bands second album Southern Rock Opera, and have continued to release good albums since. I find that those three with Isbell were the peak releases for the band. Certainly worth checking out though. A rare band where they had three songwriters at one time in those years. And all three done vocals, as well.
