I think that straight edge is ridiculous.
Millions of people live their entire lives drug-free. They do not feel the need to drink alcohol, they do not participate in casual sex, they do not put harmful substances into their bodies.
These people have been living for decades and have never felt the need to give themselves a label.
Straightedge, in my experiences with sxe people, is merely a way to conform. Many do not become straightedge because they have seriously considered the lifestyle decisions they are making. They call them selves edge to mold themselves and to become accepted into a scene. Leading drug free lifestyles should be the norm. But these people who have given themselves a label, are the equivalent of any other elitist group. Be it Nazis, or Aerians. The motives may be different, but the outlook on others remains the same.
Why give yourself a label? Live the life. Dont call yourself straightedge to make yourself feel superior to others.
