Look at it this way - humanity is hard-wired for competition BUT humanity is not hard-wired for war and conflict. Human beings are hard-wired for capitalism; this explains why no country or government has successfully applied communism. And even if communism were 100% successful, life would be extremely boring. In other words, you would be stuck with the same cellphone. The reason cellphones keep on improving is because human beings are greedy enough to want more profit. Human beings always want things to be better; this explains why technology is always improving. I actually don't see anything wrong with this because this actually creates more jobs for people. I'm not a big expert on economics but I think that this will lead to inflation. Inflation is not always a bad thing because the standards of living are getting better (inflation causes these standards to improve). I think that the main reason to why war exists is because human beings misunderstand each other (they think that another party is attacking them. Therefore they feel the need to react in self-defense). You want an example? I'll give you one... A musician thinks that another musician is dissing him because of a comment mentioned on television. The musician reacts by producing a diss song. Actually, the person who mentioned the comment wasn't really dissing the musician, but the musician misunderstood the message. The musician will eventually learn that he has misunderstood the message, but by then, it's too late. By then, 4 diss songs would have already been produced.
