Default Drakkhen

Here's an odd one: Drakkhen for the SNES. It looked and functioned more like a CD-ROM game instead of the sprite-based RPGs the SNES was known for.

The storyline wasn't too bad if you could make it through the crude, wonky controls and bad navigation. I could never seem to figure out where to go or what I was supposed to do. Not to mention the fact that your party was woefully prepared to fight the difficult enemies. If you went too far on the map, you would essentially be insta-killed by one of the various monsters if you didn't run from the fight.

Even given its downsides and the fact that I never got very far in the game, I still enjoyed playing it as it was such a different experience than the other RPGs of the time. And as far as the map music goes, it was pretty hip.
