Track 1(Love) Good start; kind of dark synthy, laidback but with a sense of menace in it
Track 2(Love) Another slow one; horns-style synth, quite dark in tone too
Track 3(Love) Kind of a bit heavier. Starts sort of urban then goes a little more rocky/new-wave. Weird. But a good weird.
Track 4(White) Certainly a great voice but I'm becoming just a little bored. This has a nice sort of progressive edge to it.
Track 5 This one's okay. Just okay. I'm beginning to lose interest
Track 6(Love) This is different. Instrumental, other than some spoken stuff in a foreign language running over the music. Nice cello.
Track 7(Love) More uptempo; album kind of needed a bit of a kick up the arse anyway. This is better.
Track 8(Love) his goes back to the kind of dour, morose synthy darkwave whatever this is. Good though.
Track 9(Love) This has a very interesting opening; sprinkling bells then a sort of tinny vocal with long-spaced out drumbeats. Different. Way too long though.
Track 10(Love) This has a bit more life in it. Horns, too.
Track 11(Love) Decent closer, though we're back to kind of slow and sombre again. Interesting ending.
End result: Maybe it was just the wrong time, but I found it very hard to get into this album. I've no doubt it's well played and sung, but much of it sounded similar to me and I kind of gave up caring about halfway through. I might like it more after a few listens, but sure, when is that ever likely to happen?
So, Love or Hate? For now, it's another cautious
