Default My Musical Heritage: I was born in XXXX....

Quote:
Here's the rules.

1. Replies must begin with: I was born in (year you were born)
2. Try to keep it succinct.
3. End with: These days....

That is all.
I was born in 1960. Came of age with a backdrop of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, American Bandstand, and Motown. Lots of Motown. BLAM! Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple. Spent most of the 70s sucking up what's now considered Classic Hard Rock. Latter 70s was all about progressive and fusion - Yes, Genesis, Mahavishnu, Dixie Dregs, etc. Got sucked into the 80s guitar god stuff via Malmsteen, Satriani, and Vai. Life then gets in the way and new music takes a back seat.

These days I'm just trying to suck up some of the ****e MB members suggest, like:

This Town Needs Guns
Strapping Young Lad
Sufjan Stevens
Death Grips

(PS Thread is dedicated to Frownland. I want to know how a kid born in 1994 has such a diverse, and highly weird, sense of musical tastes.)
