alright, so you're saying if the majority supports gay marriage, then the supreme court should uphold it
if the majority doesn't support gay marriage, then the supreme court should leave it to the states
which would then be free to legalize it or ban it as they see fit?
or should the supreme court legalize gay marriage regardless of what the populace thinks because... equality?
