Track 1(Love) What the hell is this? Country? I assumed this would be punk or metal... this is pretty good. Lyrically this has a real Nick Cave feel to it. Very dark. The fact that it's based on a true story is even more chilling. Banjo is ****ing excellent!
Track 2(Love) Short but really good
Track 3(Love) This is good but not necessarily great. Actually I changed my mind; the ending makes it.
Track 4(Love) This is brilliant! A real how-down, complete with fiddle and jew's harp!
Track 5(Love) Is that celesta? Lovely song.
Track 6(Love) Another great track, real rocker. Kind of feel like I did when I first listened to Strawfoot.
Track 7(Love) Kind of a sleazy feel to this; good fun
Track 8(Love) Has a bit of rockabilly in it. And is that John Zorn on sax? Wiki says it is. Oh yeah, you can tell...

More cool jew's harp though!
Track 9(Love) Good boppy gospel-esque closer. Love the harmonica.
End result: Just proves you can't judge a band by their name. I would not have had a clue that Violent Femmes did this kind of music. Especially when Batty recommended them to me. Touche, sir!
So, Love or Hate? Another
Love.
