Let's say I'm at your house to eat dinner with you and your family. You guys serve me oysters with fig yoghurt, but I'd much rather eat tacos, because **** oysters with fig yogurt. Sure, I'm eating it anyway, but if you had asked me the day before what I'd prefer, of course I'd say tacos, because oysters with fig yoghurt sounds gross.
You respect authority when it's imposed on you (which I can understand, those officers have guns), but when given the opportunity to have a say in who imposes the authority, you decline. Sorry, but I just don't get that.
