Yeh I agree, but I think a lot of this whole fat shaming dilemma involves people who overlook that fact. Lots of people are within a healthy BMI but smoke a ton or don't take care of their bodies and they are in way worse health then someone who takes care of themselves but is overweight.
Also, the BMI scale is kinda whack. I'm 5'11, anything over 180 for me is considered overweight. That's absurd if you have any sort of muscle mass.

The BMI scale is just a simple height to weight ratio. It doesn't take into account muscle like you said. For instance according to a BMI chart I'm technically overweight for my height. But that's sheer muscle mass and my doctor says I could actually stand to put on some weight.
The body needs some fat. It's a insulator and energy source. Doesn't mean you want to be a walking tub of lard though. Also having too much muscle can be considered unhealthy too. But I'm talking the rock on supped up steroids or something.
