Title: Desertshore
Artiste: Nico
Genre: Avant-Garde
Familiarity: Other than the little I know of VU, nothing

Track 1(Hate) I like the organ and the sort of classical sound, but when Nico comes in with the vocal it's a little harsh for me. It's sort of like listening to someone singing a mass...
Track 2(Hate)Piano is nice, as is the accordion (?) but I cannot stand her voice and it really spoils it for me.
Track 3(Love) This one is not bad; the dual acapella is nice
Track 4(Hate) Not another ****ing kid singing!! Jesus!
Track 5(Hate) See, it's fine until she opens her mouth. It's almost as if she's speaking the words, declaiming them. There's a very harsh, almost aggressive tone to her singing. The fact that it's in German or whatever does not help.
Track 6(Love) This one is not bad. Lovely piano and she sings instead of orating the music
Track 7(Hate) Didn't last; she's back to that harsh, abrasive way of singing. Piano is good at the end, even if it does kind of sound like it's being pushed down a staircase. It's better than listening to her singing!
Track 8(Love) It's not as bad as the others, and at least her singing has some melody in it.

End result: Very depressing. I feel, as I said earlier, like I've just attended a funeral mass. Dark and doomy instrumentation for the most part, with a few bright spots, and once or twice Nico sang as I understand it, but most of the time it was like being accused of something. Not for me.

So, Love or Hate? A real Hate here.
