I tried watching those back when I worked at Hollywood video but I was only sort of paying attention to what was going on in
Blue, got about halfway, realized I had no idea what was going on and decided it wasn't worth it to go back.
Anyways, I got baked and watched this last night
Wizards (1977)
The only other Ralph Bakshi work I've seen has been
Fritz the Cat (1972) so I kind of knew what I was geting into with this, but I am still amazed this movie was only rated PG. People are getting shot with arrows, there's Nazi symbolism all over the place, a fairy pretty much has her tits out on full display, and just a bunch of other things you wouldn't expect from a PG rated film. Outside of that, what did I thinK? Eh, pretty much the same feeling from
Fritz the Cat, an interesting concept and some cool imagery and themes, but not enough there to make it a full fledged classic and something I'd recommend to everyone. Still, I'm glad I saw it and I will probably watch his version of
The Lord of the Rings and call it a day with his work, unless anyone has something else from him they think I absolutely need to see.
