Warning: it ain't pretty. And I didn't.
Title: The Smile Sessions
Artiste: Brian Wilson
Genre: Pop/Surf Rock/Who the **** knows?
Love
Melody on the second track; much better
Orchestral bit at the end of this, very nice
I've said before I hear what must have been an influence on The Alan Parsons Project with Wilson's work, and it's clearly evident here on “Surf's up”
Well. Finally. I know “Good vibrations”, and who couldn't like that?
Hate
The opening track; more of that vocal harmony
vocalise I don't like from The Beach Boys
What is it with this guy and animal sounds?

"Cabin essence" goes from rustic folky tune to some sort of mad vocal athletics. Bah!
Zzzzzzzzzzz.....
Now he's singing about ****ing vegetables! Does this guy
want me to hate him??
Xylophones and slide whistles? Is this an episode of “The Simpsons”??
End result: Kind od a big yawnfest and gave me the impression Wilson was just doing an ELP: look how clever and creative I am. Thinking out of the box? What box? Yeah, but some good songs would have been nice. Very very much a case of style over substance for me.
So, Love or Hate? No question, it's a solid Hate.
