I think you're making the mistake of defining metalcore by it's '00s incarnation. Metallic hardcore is just another name for metalcore that doesn't have the melodic death metal influences of the later bands.

To some extent this is true, but without the Gothenburg influence there is a marked difference in their sound. I would consider them proto metalcore at best, but keep in mind their sound was often slower than a lot of crossover thrash bands like, DRI & the Suicidal tendencies.

lol I would vote! I think it would be f/cking hilarious fun! at least people would recognize the bands & yes I confess to being a casual fan of some.
You have to recognize that this is today's glam metal. After years of being in the dustbin, metal is popular again, especially amongst young teenage girls who spend...uhm how shall I put this civilly...hours glaring at their Ollie Sykes posters in adoration lol.
Mathcore is boring, and there is a reason why people fondly remember Black Flag and GBH but no one gives two $hits about Earth Crisis and Integrity.
So go on and add Bring Me the Horizon to the list. You know you want to.
