What were your impressions of this album after the first five minutes?
Early Doors go experimental.
Did those first impressions change as you listened to the album?
Not really. The Doors influence was evident throughout, but I thought The Velvet Underground popped up toward the end as well.
Were the opening 2-3 tracks or the closing 2-3 tracks stronger?
Wasn't a huge fan of the closer, so the former.
Did you find you enjoyed this album more or less on repeated listens?
More; I started picking up on details.
What was your favourite track?
"Fresh Garbage". I liked the way the vocalist spat out the words.
What was your least favourite track?
"Taurus" was boring. No idea why Zeppelin ripped it off, when there are so many better tracks on the album.
What did you think of the variety of tracks presented?
Not much, but it worked.
How would you describe the overall mood?
"Bohemian" was the word Wikipedia used, and I have to agree with that. Also experimental and, at times, unsettling.
Would you listen to it again for purposes other than this club?
Definitely.
How well do you know this band/artist?
Only knew them as the guys whom Led Zeppelin ripped off.
If you're familiar with this band/artist, how does this album compare to their other work?
N/A
How would you improve this album?
I'd move the closer to the middle of the B side and use "Fresh Garbage" to close instead.
Would you recommend this album to a friend?
Sure.
Will you be exploring this band/artists' other material?
Definitely.
What did you think of the vocals?
Good, although very similar to Jim Morrison.
What did you think of the instrumentation?
Creative.
What did you think of the production?
It could have been improved, though that might be YouTube.
Any other thoughts to share?
I was surprised I'd never heard this before, and I'll be checking out the rest of their discography.
Rate the album out of ten. No decimals!
