The World Of Warcraft forums is a good example. The forums are run by a famously good game developer- Blizzard Entertainment. They recently added a new mod who supresses controversial ideas by deleting threads and banning people for trying to start a legitimate, intelligent debate. Now free- and even innofensive- speech is squelched by this new mod.
