^ on that argument, im gonna go ahead and say that length comes 2nd to quality.
Shadow of the colossus is a 6 hr game if you know how to beat each colussus and i could pass Super mario world in 2 hr and they're still great games worth their retail price HOWEVER length becomes an issue whenever a player doesn't feel satisfied by his game experience.
You could make a 30+ plus hour game but that means sh*t if it's not memorable or if it's a chore to get through.
Whenever a player becomes aware the game was either too short or too long that's when the game failed at drawing them in.
i remember playing FF8 and going through all the sh*tty convoluted story and it was near the end of Disc 4 the game got good.
All the middle hours of quality content? F*ckin fillers.
