So, bands who can both play fantastically in studio and at a live show are some of the best musicians you can come across, in my opinion. Post-rock is no different. There are many different ways a post-rock group can do something fantastic with their live show, and there have been times when I prefer to listen to a live version of a song that I love from a post-rock group that I absolutely love. I've got a few in mind that i'd like to share:

Spoiler for live footage:

From what I have found from searching around on Youtube, there aren't a large supply of pg.lost live videos that you can find, but the ones you do find are nothing but amazing. This footage features one of the better tracks on the "Key" album. The live version of the song just adds so much more depth and the way it's performed just sounds like it came straight from heaven. Maybe my ears deceive me because I love the song so much, but it's really a great track to hear in live footage.

Sigur Ros have a few live sessions on Youtube, and I can't stress how much I love each and every live video I see of him. Not only is the music played very well, but the personality of the members of the band on stage is just fantastic. It really brings you into a different world and let's you feel like you're going on a journey with the band. Truly fantastic.

Caspian did a show in Hong Kong and the track Asa just sounds perfect. The album it comes from is amazing in it's own way and well worth a listen. Unfortunately I do find that the members of the band don't really move around a whole bunch, but that's not their fault. It's more about the music before anything else. They do it well and they're definitely one of the more underrated acts in the post-rock genre.

Part 2 coming soon.
