You posted earlier you've never been to a show this explains alot. There is an energy when listening to hardcore music that cannot be contained and it spawned mosh pits. If you are worried about getting hurt then you might be better off staying home. Most mosh pits are front row and center so not hearing the music will never be an issue. Is it really that weird I don't like the concept of getting hurt when listening to music?
My ideal concert would be at some small place wih a low amount of people, where I can clearly see the band play. I hate crowde places.
