What were your impressions of this album after the first five minutes?
Interesting 60’s era psychedelic with some unique instrumentation and sounds.
Did those first impressions change as you listened to the album?
It got a little more out there and experimental as it went along which I did not foresee.
Were the opening 2-3 tracks or the closing 2-3 tracks stronger?
Originally I had the opening tracks but after repeated listening I’m going with the closing tracks. They really grew on me. It was tough because I think the 2 opening and 2 closing songs were the best on the album overall.
Did you find you enjoyed this album more or less on repeated listens?
Much more - I started to kind of understand the vibe with repeated listens and my initial rating went up.
What was your favourite track?
Between “Refound” and “little fly” but I guess I will go with Refound.
What was your least favourite track?
“I put my hand on your shoulder”. If you just went from the 1:00 mark to about the 2:40 mark it might have been my favorite but then it goes off the rails a bit.
What did you think of the variety of tracks presented?
Good variety for sure.
How would you describe the overall mood?
Very creative and experimental overall.
Would you listen to it again for purposes other than this club?
Probably not, but I tend to not re-listen to much music these days. So busy trying to keep up with new stuff. Although if I ran across it in the future I think it would be a pleasant surprise.
How well do you know this band/artist?
Never heard of them before this.
How would you improve this album?
Not sure, seem like they probably accomplished what they were going for with it. I would have liked it more with more concise melodic songs but that is my own bias.
Would you recommend this album to a friend?
Maybe a friend that was really into this type of experimental music but not to most people.
Will you be exploring this band/artists' other material?
Probably not although I would actually like to hear more.
What did you think of the vocals?
As others have stated, kind of a weak point.
What did you think of the instrumentation?
I liked it for the most part. Quite a variety of guitar, flute, keyboards, different percussion. Had that classic psych guitar sound throughout much of it.
What did you think of the production?
Hard to tell since I listened on Youtube but didn’t sound too bad.
Any other thoughts to share?
Is this some kind of concept album? Seemed implied by the title but I was not sure I caught a story going through it.
Rate the album out of ten. No decimals!
