Overkill, Demolition Hammer, and Devastation are all working just as well at volumes that should be vibrating my computer screen too much to even be readable. How does this work? Edit: On reflection, I think the higher volume is actually making my studying more effective. I don't know that this would work with all music, but the wall of sound created by thrash and stoner seem to kind of shut out the outside world and keep me focused on what's in front of me. I think the effect might be even better with headphones (which I unfortunately don't have). Will try with more extreme metal. I don't know if this would work with something like hip hop, where the greater focus on vocals might be more distracting, but maybe some Southern rap, with that big production, would be good too.
