I do agree that a certain amount of self-preservation and fiscal responsibility is crucial to being able to get by in certain industries, especially the sex industry and porn industry... but the fact is these industries prey on people who might not realize what they're getting into. I'm not saying people who do porn are inherently victims or anything like that but the friend I'm talking about basically got into porn because the agency that picked her up offered to pay for her implants, hormonal treatments, and laser surgeries to remove facial (and body) hair. She wound up catching STIs because the agency was careless about testing, refused to continue performing, subsequently lost the means to her treatments (and not enough money afterwards to continue them) and wound up being really messed up both physically and mentally.
