Just google rap is dead, or rap sales in decline and you'll get endless pages & citations. Its not like its now well known.

No, I saw your comment on pop music, but with the exception of R&B, even rap in pop music isn't as dominant as it once was, with the onset of artists like Goyte in recent years. Hell even the massive R&B hit Happy by Pharrell Williams doesn't contain any rap.

Like I said, there's nothing wrong with this its just natural. Are there large amounts of African Americans in Harlem still wandering around with huge afros & bellbottoms listening to Curtis Mayfield & Jimmy Castor. Of course not.

Don't be so culturally protective or you'll turn to into a fascist, lol. Punk is dead, do I care, F)ck no! Like I said, culture isn't static & the popularity of musical genres comes and goes.
